Hornby R284 LNER Class B12/3 steam tender locomotive

This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R284 London North Eastern Region LNER Class B12/3 steam locomotive with realistic tender generated ‘sound’ feature’.  This item is in mint, factory fresh condition and is just as good as the day it was first despatched from the factory.   Apart from a demonstration and test run, it has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new.  This rarely available 4-6-0 locomotive drive model is finished in LNER green livery with double white boiler bands.  Complete with the single chimney, intricate valve gear and the correct, black multi spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning.  Only available for a few years from 1996 and never re-released in this livery or company, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive, numbered 8579, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, brass whistles and interior cab detail are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked LNER.  It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling.  The tender generates the unique steam sound when pulled by the locomotive.   The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition.  The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects.  Inside the box, the original undamaged and sculptured polystyrene surround protects the locomotive.  The original Hornby operating and maintenance instructions remain with this item.  This model is in just as good and complete condition as you could ever hope to obtain.

This item predates the latest digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.

As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).

Hornby R2320 BR black Class B12/3 steam locomotive

This is the 2003 R2320 Hornby model of the BR British Rail Class B12/3 4-6-0 steam locomotive with the factory fitted ‘chuff chuff’ steam sound feature. It is finished in the BR all black livery with gold lettering and red boiler bands. It is the completely retooled model that was the first to be introduced from China. It features factory fitted wired handrails and black multi spoked wheels. This is a locomotive drive model and the RN is 61520. The model is in its original Hornby box with the polystyrene protective surround, super detail pack, full length monochrome protective display card and original instructions. The models are in mint, unrun, condition and the box is correctly labelled. The tender generates the unique chuff chuff sound as it moves along. This model just predates DCC but with a little skill, should be an easy conversion with the right Hornby chip.
