Hornby R063 BR Silver Seal Britannia Class 7P6F 4-6-2 tender loco

This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R063 Silver Seal British Rail Class 7P6F steam locomotive ‘Britannia’.  This high quality item is in near mint, factory fresh condition and is just as good as the day it was first despatched from the factory.  Apart from test running to ensure it works, it has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new.   This rarely available 4-6-2 locomotive is finished in BR gloss green livery with orange boiler bands.  Complete with the single chimney, intricate valve gear and the correct, black multi spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning.  Only available for 3 years from 1976 and never re-released in this livery, this item was constructed in the modern manner. This locomotive, numbered 70000, is just about as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Look-alike wired handrails, brass whistles and smoke deflectors are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item.  The model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender that houses the motor is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.  It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling and like the locomotive, also features the look alike-wired handrails.  The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition with only some light storage scuffs.  The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects.  Inside the box the locomotive is protected by the undamaged original white moulded polystyrene surround.  A copy of the original Hornby instructions numbered R0632110769 remain with this item.  Also remaining with the item is the full length monochrome protective display card that sits between the model and the clear acetate front of the box.  This item is just about as good as good and complete as you could ever wish to obtain and at over 30 years new, is very hard to find in this condition.

This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.

As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable )
