Hornby R2039 BR ex SR Schools Class steam locomotive Cheltenham Ltd Edn
This is the original 1997 Hornby R2039 model of the 4-4-0 BR, ex SR, Schools class steam locomotive Cheltenham. This is a Limited Edition of just 1000 examples produced for the Cheltenham model centre and each one is individually certificated. It is finished in the BR all black livery with white lettering and white/red coach lines. It features factory fitted wired handrails, multi spoked wheels and a single chimney. This is a tender powered locomotive with pick ups on the locomotive wheels for fine smooth running. The RN is 30925. The model is in the original white polystyrene surround inside the original Hornby box and is complete with the original instructions numbered R2039261197. The still sealed super detail pack that also contains the fireman and driver figurines remains in the box and the certificate numbered 946 remains with the item. The models are in near mint, unrun, condition and have only been demo tested to ensure they work. Please note that we have described the item as near mint because the offside smoke defector is slightly curved at the front and the nearside one is straight. We are not SR aficionados so do not know if this is how the prototype was! This rare model predates DCC but with a little skill, should be an easy conversion with the right Hornby chip.
