Hornby R2005 Toplink Railfreight Distribution Class 90 pantograph loco

This highly collectable model is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby Railways Toplink R2005 model of the Railfreight Distribution Class 90 electric locomotive number 90135.  Toplink is the name that Hornby applies to its most highly finished models and this example is no exception.  The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored for many years.  Apart from a recent demo run to ensure it works, it has not seen or been on a layout for a very long time.  This rarely available Bo-Bo locomotive is finished in Railfreight Distribution two tone grey livery and with the correct, yellow warning panel ends and blue roof, is absolutely stunning.    Only available for a one year period in 1997, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be difficult to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Glazed windows, fully detailed cab interior and the completely intact white electrical insulators are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of the model.  The locomotive is just a beautifully made evocative item.  Unlike the latest Hornby models that feature an inoperative pantograph, this model has the working pantograph that allows the loco to be powered from the track, or the overhead catenary system, by a selector switch on the roof of the locomotive.  This allows 2 separately controlled analogue trains to simultaneously run over the same length of track so giving a far more interesting and realistic train operation. The original box is in a bright, unfaded, sharp and fully intact condition.  It is correctly labelled for the contents it protects.  Inside the box, the locomotive is protected in a white moulded polystyrene surround.   There are no instructions.

This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.

As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).

Hornby R250 British Rail Class 58 Railfreight diesel

This is the 1984 Hornby model of the BR Class 58 Railfreight diesel. This powerful Co-Co model is finished in Railfreight grey livery with the full length scarlet stripe. It is powered by a type 5 Ringfield motor and has the RN 58001. It features the yellow panelled warning ends and a fully fitted cab interior. It also has the large BR white insignia and wired handrails. The model is in its original Hornby box with an undamaged polystyrene inner protective surround. The model is in mint, unrun, condition and the box is correctly labelled. The labelled end is missing the final 1cm of the large tuck in end flap. This model predates DCC but with a little skill, should be an easy conversion with the right Hornby chip.
