Hornby R2103 LNER Class A3 ‘Cameronian’ Pacific steam locomotiv
This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R2103 Class A3 LNER steam locomotive ‘Cameronian’. This locomotive is the Super Detail model and is in mint factory fresh condition. It has been shelf stored since new and has never seen, or been on a layout. This rarely available 4-6-2 pacific locomotive is finished in LNER apple green livery with double white boiler bands. Complete with the single black chimney, intricate valve gear and later banjo dome, it is absolutely stunning. Only available for a 1-year period from 1991, this item was constructed in China in the modern manner. This locomotive, numbered 2505, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Wired handrails, colour coded wheels and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item. The 8-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the LNER insignia. It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling and houses the motor. The original box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition. The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects and inside the box a white undamaged, moulded polystyrene surround protects the locomotive. The still sealed polythene super detail pack remains with this item as does the full colour graphics card that sits between the model and the clear acetate front of the larger Super detail type box. The original instructions numbered R2103170599 remain with this item. The whole model is just as good as you could ever expect to obtain and is as complete as you could ever get. This item predates modern digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
