Hornby Toplink R737 ex GWR now BR King Class ‘King George V’ loco

This highly collectable and powerful model is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby Toplink R737 model of the ex GWR, now BR British Rail King class steam locomotive King George V.  Toplink is the name that Hornby applies to it’s top of the range models and this extremely well finished model is no exception.  This item is the later and much harder to get hold of model that has the brass bell mounted above the front buffer beam.  The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new.  Apart from a demo test run, it has never seen or been on a layout and the wheels and traction tyres remain in an as new condition.  This rarely available 4-6-0 locomotive is finished in BR blue livery and with the correct, black multi spoked wheels it is absolutely stunning.  Only available for a 1-year period from 1996, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive, numbered 6000, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, brass dome and highly intricate valve gear are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.   It houses the motor and is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling.  The original Toplink box is in a bright, unfaded and sharp, intact condition with minimal storage marks.  The right hand box end flap has the original red label with the correct model number and description.  Inside the box, the locomotive is protected by an undamaged and sculptured white polystyrene surround.  The full colour Toplink box graphic remains bright and sharp.  The still sealed packet that contains the driver and fireman figurines as well as the extra super detail items remains with this model.  In all respects this item is in the exactly condition you would wish to receive it so bid with confidence on what is a very fine model.  To complete the ensemble, the original instructions numbered R737290296 remain with the model in the box.

This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.

As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
