Bachmann 31956 LNER Class A4 pacific Woodcock *4493-rare item.
This highly collectable model is the original Bachmann 31956 LNER, Class A4 Pacific steam locomotive Woodcock. It was originally Golden Eagle but has been professionally renamed and renumbered as Woodcock was not available by Bachmann. The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new. Apart from a short run to ensure it works, it has never seen, or been, on a layout. This rarely available pristine finish 4-6-2 locomotive drive model is finished in LNER green livery. With the correct, multi green spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning. Only available for one year in 1997, this item was constructed in the modern manner. This locomotive, numbered 4493, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Wired handrails, single chimney and fully valanced driving wheels are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is a heavy and beautifully made evocative item. The 8-wheel corridor tender is in just as good a condition and is clearly marked LNER. It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling. The original box is in a bright, unfaded, sharp and fully intact condition. Inside the box, the locomotive is protected by an undamaged and sculptured white polystyrene surround. The still sealed packet that contain the driver and fireman figurines remain with this item. Also remaining is a copy of the original operating and maintenance instructions, the original guarantee and the full length protective graphics card that sits between the model and the acetate window of the box lid. In all respects this item is in the exactly condition you would wish to receive it so bid with confidence on what is a very fine model. A really good item.
This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
