Hornby R834 LMS Coronation Class 7P Queen Mary tender locomotive
This highly collectable model is the original and extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R834 model of the London Midland Scottish LMS Coronation Class 7P steam locomotive ‘Queen Mary’. The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been display stored since new. This rarely available 4-6-2 locomotive is finished in LMS matt blue and silver livery and with the correct blue spoked wheels it is absolutely stunning. Only available for a short period between late 1985 to early 1986 and never re-released, this item was constructed in the modern manner. This locomotive, numbered 6222, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Wired handrails, silver coach lines and highly intricate valve gear are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is just a beautifully made evocative locomotive. The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as good a condition and is clearly marked with the LMS insignia. It houses the motor and is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling. The original box is in a bright, intact condition and there are no instructions. The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects. Inside the box, an undamaged and sculptured polystyrene surround protects the locomotive and in between this and the clear acetate front of the box, the original silhouette graphics card that depicts the enclosed model is also included This model is just as good a condition as you could ever hope to obtain and is a rare item at the best of times so please don’t miss it.
This item predates modern digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
