Hornby R080 BR Class 29 diesel locomotive in green BR livery
This highly collectable and rarely available model is the R080 British Rail Class 29 Bo-Bo diesel electric locomotive. This item is in mint, factory fresh condition and is just as good as the day it was first despatched from the factory. It has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new. Originally available from 1978 for just 1 year the model has been constructed in the modern manner. It is finished in British Rail Green with a grey roof and yellow warning panelled ends. All transfers on the model are intact and it bares the running number D6110 with header code 1Z90. Wired handrails, detailed cab interiors and red buffer backgrounds are just 3 of the details on this superb example. The original box is in an unfaded, bright, sharp and fully intact mint condition. The box has the correct Hornby label for the locomotive it protects and the original retail price sticker remains affixed to the right hand box front. The locomotive is contained and protected within an undamaged white moulded polystyrene surround. The original instructions numbered R080150978 remain with this model, as does the full colour graphics card that sits between the model and the clear undamaged acetate front of the box. This is a high quality unused model and would be a very welcome addition to any collectors stock.
This item slightly predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
