Hornby R2228 LMS London Midland Scottish Class 8F loco & tender

This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby DCC ready R2228 London Midland Scottish Region LMS Class 8F steam locomotive numbered 8510.  This model is in mint, factory fresh condition and is just as good as the day it was first despatched from the factory.  It has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new.  It is fitted with the locomotive mounted 5-pole skew wound motor that gives smooth and powerful running.  This rarely available 2-8-0 steam locomotive is finished in LMS all black livery with matching boiler bands.  Complete with the highly detailed cab interior, super detailed finish and intricate valve gear, it is absolutely stunning.  Only available for 2 years from 2003 and never re-released, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Colour coded multi spoke wheels, wired handrails and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the LMS icon.  It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling and like the locomotive, also features the bright red buffer beam.  The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition.  Inside the box, the original undamaged and sculptured surround protects the locomotive and tender.   The original Hornby instructions remain with this model and this model is just as good and complete as you could ever hope to obtain.   A lovely, & very rarely available, model.

As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
