Hornby R055 LMS crimson Class 4P 2-6-4T Tank locomotive
This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R055 LMS London Midland Scottish Region Class 4P tank locomotive numbered 2300. This item is in mint, factory fresh condition. It has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new. This rarely available 2-6-4T locomotive is finished in the LMS crimson livery with gold lettering. Complete with the single chimney, intricate valve gear and the correct, black multi spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning. Only available for 1 year in 1980-81and never re-released, this item was constructed in the modern manner. This locomotive, numbered 2300, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Highly detailed wired handrails, brass whistles and yellow/black coach lines are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is just a beautifully made evocative item. The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition. The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects. The box is slightly tired but it is 30 years young. Inside the box, the original 2-part white sculptured polystyrene surround protects the locomotive. The full length full colour display card that sits between the model and the clear acetate front of the box completes the ensemble. A copy of the operating and maintenance instructions for this model and the still sealed packet that contains the super detail driver and fireman figurines are also present in the box. In all respects, this item is in just as good a condition as you could ever wish to obtain.
This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
