Hornby R2099A LMS Class 2P 4-4-0 steam tender locomotive
This highly collectable model is the original and powerful Hornby R2099A model of the LMS London Midland Scottish Railways Class 2P 4-4-0 steam locomotive. This locomotive/model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new. It has never seen or been run on a layout and is as good as the day it left the factory. This rarely available locomotive is finished in LMS all black livery and with the correct factory black spoked wheels and gold lettering, it is absolutely stunning. This item was constructed in the modern manner and was only available for 2 years from 1999. It has never been re-released. This locomotive, numbered 579 is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Wired handrails, black round dome and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is just a beautifully made evocative item. The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the LMS insignia. It houses the Ringfield motor, and is fitted at the rear with the standard Hornby tension lock coupling. The correctly labelled original box is in a bright, unfaded, intact and sharp condition. Inside the box, a moulded white polystyrene surround protects the model. The original paperwork and instruction sheet numbered R2099A240299 remains with the model as does the full length white protective display card that sis between the model and the clear acetate front of the box. In all respects this item is in exactly the condition you would wish to receive it.
This item predates the latest digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
