Hornby R2102A LNER British Rail Class B12/3

This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R2102A ex LNER now British Rail Class B12/3 steam locomotive.  This is the model that makes the chuff chuff sound as it goes along so it’s about as real as you can get without going expensively digital.  This item is in mint, factory fresh condition.  It has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new.  This rarely available 4-6-0 locomotive is finished in BR all black livery with scarlet boiler bands.  Complete with the single chimney, circular dome and the correct, black multi spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning.  Only available for 1 year in 1999 and never re-released, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive, numbered 61520, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Highly detailed wire handrails, brass whistles and locomotive drive are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item.  The model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.  It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling.  The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition.  The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects.  Inside the box, the original sculptured cream coloured polystyrene surround protects the locomotive and tender.   The original Hornby operating and maintenance instructions sheet numbered R2102A210499 remains with this item.  The full length monochrome graphics card that sits between the model and the clear acetate front of the box completes the ensemble.  In all respects, this item is just as good and complete as you could ever wish to obtain.

This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
