Hornby R175 BR Class 4P Compound steam tender locomotive

This highly collectable model is the original and extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R175 British Railways model of the Class 4P Compound steam locomotive numbered 41043. The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new.  It has never seen or been on a layout.  This rarely available 4-4-0 tender locomotive is finished in BR black livery and with the correct black spoked wheels, is absolutely stunning.  Only available for a 1-year period between 1986 and 1987, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.   We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, brass cab interior and double coach lines are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is just a beautifully made evocative locomotive.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked British Railways.   It houses the motor and, like the front of the engine, is fitted with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling.  The original box is in a bright, unfaded, intact and sharp condition.  Inside the box, an undamaged and sculptured two part polystyrene surround protects the locomotive.  Remaining with the item are the original Zero 1 installation instructions and the operating/maintenance instructions numbered R175160686.  Finally, the monochrome graphics card that sits between the locomotive and the clear acetate front of the box is also included.   The whole item is just as good and complete as you could ever hope to obtain.   This item predates modern digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.

As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
