Hornby R2064A GWR Class 2301 Dean Goods steam tender locomotive
This highly collectable model is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R2064A model of the GWR Great Western Railway Class 2301 Dean Goods steam locomotive. The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new. It has never seen or been on a layout and has only been test run for demonstration purposes. This rarely available 0-6-0 tender locomotive is finished in GWR green livery with the correct, black multi spoked wheels. It is absolutely stunning. Only available for a 1-year period in 1999, this item was constructed in the modern manner. This locomotive, numbered 2322, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Wired handrails, single tall chimney and brass detailing are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is just a beautifully made evocative item. The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the GWR insignia. It houses the Ringfield motor and is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling. The original box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition. It is correctly labelled for the contents it protects. Inside the box, a white undamaged, two-part moulded polystyrene surround protects the locomotive. Inside the box, the full length monochrome graphics card remains with the item as does the original operating instructions numbered R2193121100. The driver and fireman figurines are in the cab but the driver figurine needs reattaching. This item is just as good and complete as you could ever hope to obtain.
This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
