This is the 1981 Hornby Limited Edition Lord of the Isles Train Pack. The model is finished in the Great Western matt green livery that was used from the original construction in 1891 from Swindon. This is a locomotive powered 4-4-0 model with matching tender and the RN 3046. The set is supplied with 3 matching GWR clerestory coaches in matching GWR brown & cream livery. The models are supplied in the original Hornby presentation box with polystyrene inner protective surround and the original instructions numbered R795461981. The models are in mint, unrun, condition and the box is just as good and is correctly labelled for the contents it contains. This model slightly predates DCC but with a little skill, may be an easy conversion with the right Hornby chip if it could be mounted in the tender. This is probably the best example of this hard to find set that we have ever seen and is a rare find for the collector.
