This highly collectable model is the original and powerful Hornby Toplink R315 4-6-0 Class B17/4 Footballers locomotive ‘Manchester United’.  Toplink is the branding for Hornby’s top of  the range models and this example is no exception.  This locomotive/model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new.  It has never seen or been run on a layout and is in its original Toplink box.  This rarely available locomotive is finished in BR green livery and with the correct factory black spoked wheels and detailed valve gear, it is absolutely stunning. This item was constructed and only available for 1 year in 1996 and it has never been re-released.  This locomotive, numbered 61662 is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, orange boiler bands and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item.  The model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.  It houses the motor, and is fitted at the rear with the standard Hornby tension lock coupling.  The correctly labelled original box is in a bright, unfaded, intact and sharp condition.  Inside the box, a moulded white polystyrene surround protects the model and the driver & fireman figurines are still in the original still sealed packet.  To complete the listing the original Hornby instructions numbered R31513296 remain with this item.  In all respects this item is in exactly the condition you would wish to receive it.   It would be a must for any Red Devils fan so come on all you Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs & Sir Alec Ferguson fans and grab something just a little bit different as the ultimate present.  This item predates modern digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
