This is the original 1995 R143 Hornby model of the 2-8-0 BR class 2800 steam locomotive with Synchrosmoke and the firebox glow feature. It is finished in the BR all black livery with gold lettering and brass whistles. It features factory fitted wired handrails, multi spoked wheels and a single chimney. This is a tender powered locomotive with pick ups on the locomotive wheels for fine smooth running. The RN is 2857. The model is in the original clear plastic surround inside the original Hornby box and is complete with the original instructions numbered R143110495. The still sealed super detail pack that also contains the fireman and driver figurines remains in the box and the box is still sealed across the correctly labelled end. The models are in mint, unrun, condition and have only been demo tested to ensure they work. Included with the model is a sachet of unopened smoke generating oil and an oil loading pipette. This combination of smoke generation and fire box glow is very rare. This model predates DCC but with a little skill, should be an easy conversion with the right Hornby chip.
