Hornby R330 BR Class 9F Evening Star steam tender locomotive

This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R330 British Rail Class 9F Evening Star steam locomotive.  This model of BR’s last ever steam locomotive is in mint, factory fresh condition and is just as good as the day it was first despatched from the factory.  It has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new.  This rarely available 2-10-0 locomotive is finished in BR dark green livery with orange boiler bands.  Complete with the double chimney, intricate valve gear and the correct, black multi spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning.  Only available for I year in 1982 and never re-released, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive, numbered 92220, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, brass whistles and detailed cab interior are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender that houses the motor is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.  It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling and like the locomotive, also features wired handrails.  The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition.  The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects.  Inside the box, the original undamaged and sculptured opaque surround protects the locomotive.  The trade guides specify that the Hornby R330 model with this RN and finished in the dark green livery is a National Railway Museum Limited Edition model.  We cannot prove this either way as there is no paperwork with the model but it’s the very first one we have ever seen with this R number in this livery so we will leave this one for the market to decide.  This model is in just as good a condition as you could ever hope to obtain and will benefit from a gentle clean to remove some light dust.  The model is not DCC ready as its date of manufacture predates this but it should be an easy conversion with the correct Hornby digital chip if so desired.
