Hornby R188 LNER Class B17/4 Arsenal steam tender locomotive

This highly collectable model is the original and powerful Hornby R188 4-6-0 LNER Class B17/4 steam locomotive ‘Arsenal’. This locomotive/model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been securely dry stored since new.  It has never seen or been on a layout.  This rarely available locomotive is finished in LNER green livery and with the correct factory green spoked wheels and detailed valve gear, it is absolutely stunning.  This item was constructed in the modern manner and was only available for 1 year in 1992.  It has never been re-released since.  This locomotive, numbered 2848, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  The model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, gold lettering and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked LNER.   It houses the motor and is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling.   The original Hornby box is in a bright sharp and fully intact condition and is still sealed across the correctly labelled end.  Inside the box an undamaged clear plastic moulded surround protects the model.  Finally the still sealed packet that contains the driver and fireman figurines remains with this model, as does the original instructions numbered R188300792.  In all respects this is a must for every Emirates stadium Gunners fan and/or LNER fan and in everyway, it is just as complete as you could ever hope to obtain.  The model is not DCC ready as its date of manufacture predates this but it should be an easy conversion with the correct Hornby digital chip if so desired.
