Hornby R2154 LNER A4 Class Kestrel steam tender locomotive

This highly collectable and powerful model is the original and powerful Hornby R2154 4-6-2 A4 Class LNER steam locomotive ‘Kestrel’.  This locomotive/model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new.  It has never seen or been on a layout and is the completely new model Super Detail model that first appeared in 1999.   This rarely available locomotive is finished in LNER garter blue livery and with the correct factory darkened multi spoked wheels and detailed valve gear, it is absolutely stunning. This model was constructed in the modern manner and was only available for 1 year from 1999 and never re-released.  This locomotive, numbered 4485, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, gold lettering and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 8-wheel corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked LNER.  This model is tender powered so the motor is in the tender.  The correctly labelled original box is in a bright, unfaded, fully intact and sharp condition.  Inside the box, a moulded white polystyrene surround protects the model and the full colour graphics card that sits between the model and the clear acetate front of the box is also present.  The still sealed packet that contains the additional super detail accessory pack also remains with this item, as do the original instructions numbered R2154121299.  In all respects this model is in exactly the condition you would wish to receive it.  Such examples are becoming increasingly difficult to source in this condition.  It slightly predates the availability of DCC but should be an easy conversion with the correct Hornby chip.
