This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R2055 Toplink British Rail Class 8F steam locomotive. Toplink is the name that Hornby applies to its most prestigious and detailed items and this item is no exception.  This item is in mint, factory fresh condition and is just as good as the day it was first despatched from the factory.  It has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new. This rarely available 2-8-0 locomotive is finished in BR black livery with matching boiler bands.  It is complete with the unique Hornby Firebox glow feature.  Complete with the single chimney, intricate valve gear and the correct, black multi spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning.  Only available for I year in 1998 and never re-released, this item was constructed in the modern manner as self-coloured, ie not painted.  This locomotive, numbered 48705, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, brass whistles and detailed cab interior are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender that houses the motor is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.  It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling and like the locomotive, also features wired handrails.  The original Hornby Toplink box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition.  The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects.  Inside the box, the original undamaged and sculptured polystyrene surround protects the locomotive.  The still sealed packet that contains the driver and fireman figurines and the super detail items remains with this model.  To complete the item the original Hornby instructions numbered R205525298.  This model is just as good and complete as you could ever hope to obtain and becoming increasingly hard to source.  It predates DCC but should be an easy conversion with the correct Hornby chip.
