Hornby R2205 LMS Red Princess Coronation Class City of Birmingham

This highly collectable model is the original and extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R2205 Super Detail model of the London Midland Scottish LMS Coronation Class steam locomotive ‘City of Birmingham’.  The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been safely shelf stored since new.  This rarely available 4-6-2 locomotive is finished in LMS crimson and gold livery and with the correct black spoked wheels it is absolutely stunning.  This model is locomotive powered and has the double chimney with the rear chimney blanked off.  Only available for a short period from 2001 and never re-released as this example, this item was constructed in the modern manner.  This locomotive, numbered 6235, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.   We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, gold coach lines and highly intricate valve gear are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. Also included are front and rear hydraulic buffers and the alternative front pony truck for tight radius curves.  The model is just a beautifully made, evocative locomotive.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the LMS insignia.   It is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling.  The item is supplied in its original Super Detail box and is protected in the box by an undamaged white polystyrene surround.    The full length, full colour, correctly labelled graphics card remains with this item as do the original operating and maintenance instructions.  In all respects this item is just as mint and complete as you could ever wish to obtain and the lucky  new owner will not be disappointed.  This model is not DCC ready but should be an easy conversion with the correct Hornby chip.
