Hornby R2015 BR Duchess Class City of Hereford steam locomotive

This highly collectable and powerful model is the original and powerful Hornby R2015 4-6-2 Duchess Class ex LMS BR steam locomotive ‘City of Hereford’.  This locomotive/model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new.  It has never seen or been on a layout and is the completely retooled version that appeared in 1997 with the tender powered Ringfield motor.  This rarely available locomotive is finished in BR green livery and with the correct factory black spoked wheels and detailed valve gear, it is absolutely stunning. This model was constructed in the modern manner and was only available for 1 year from 1997 and never re-released.  This locomotive, numbered 46255, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, gold lettering and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item.  The model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  Additional items include a highly intricate valve gear, a black double chimney and a fully detailed cab interior.  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.  The correctly labelled original box is in a bright, unfaded, fully intact and sharp condition.  Inside the box, a moulded white polystyrene surround protects the model.  The still sealed packet that contains the additional super detail accessory pack and wind deflector for the smoke box offside remains with this item.  Please do not ask us why the wind defector was despatched in this way at the time of manufacture, it just was!  In all respects this model is in exactly the condition you would wish to receive it and such examples are becoming increasingly difficult to source in this condition.  It slightly predates the availability of DCC but should be an easy conversion with the correct Hornby chip.
