Hornby R2201 ex LNER now BR Class A3 Pacific ‘Robert The Devil’ loco
This highly collectable model is the original and extremely hard to get hold of Hornby Super Detail R2201 British Rail, BR, originally LNER, A3 class steam locomotive Robert The Devil. This model is in factory fresh mint condition and has been shelf stored since new. This rarely available 4-6-2 locomotive is finished in BR blue livery and with the correct black spoked wheels, is absolutely stunning. Constructed in the modern manner, it was only available for 1 year in 2001 and never re-released. This locomotive, numbered 60110, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Wired handrails, white boiler bands, single chimney and brass whistles are just 4 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is just a beautifully made evocative locomotive. The 8-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon. It houses the motor and is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling. The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact near mint condition. It is correctly labelled for the contents it protects and the full length full colour protective display card remains with the model. Inside the box, an undamaged and sculptured polystyrene surround protects the locomotive. The original instructions numbered R2201130201 remain with this model. In all respects, this item is just as good and complete as you could ever hope to obtain.
This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
