This is the 1981 Hornby model of the BR Class 86 overhead electric pantograph locomotive Royal Anglian Regiment. This powerful Bo-Bo model is finished in BR inter city grey livery with a light grey roof. It is powered by a type 5 Ringfield motor and has the RN 86246. It has a small switch on the roof that allows the operator to power this model from either the rails in the usual way or to collect power from the fitted pantograph if a suitable catenary system has been installed. It features the yellow panelled warning ends and a fully fitted cab interior. It also has the small BR white insignia and wired handrails. The model is in its original Hornby box with an undamaged polystyrene inner protective surround. The model is in mint, unrun, condition. The box label is handwritten. This model predates DCC but with a little skill, should be an easy conversion with the right Hornby chip.
