Hornby R2447 DCC ready LMS Princess ‘Princess Arthur of Connaught’

This highly collectable model is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby DCC ready Super Detail R2447 model of the ex LMS, now BR, Princess Class steam locomotive ‘Princess Arthur of Connaught’.  The model is in mint factory fresh condition and has been shelf stored since new.  It has never seen or been on a layout and has only been removed from the protective tissue once and that was for our digipic.  This rarely available 4-6-2 locomotive is finished in BR crimson livery and with the correct, black spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning.  This item was constructed in 2005 in the modern manner and the model, numbered 46207, is just as good as the day it was first made.  It would be impossible to obtain a better condition item.  We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be.  Wired handrails, hydraulic buffers and brass whistles are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item and the model is just a beautifully made evocative item.  The latest 5 pole skew wound motor for the model is where it should be: in the locomotive!  The 6-wheel none corridor tender is in just as mint condition and is clearly marked with the BR icon.   The tender wheels have electric pick-ups and the tender itself is fitted at the rear with the correct Hornby tension lock coupling.  The original box is the new Super Detail type and is in a bright, unfaded and intact condition.  It is just as good as the model it contains.  Inside the box, an undamaged cream coloured, sculptured surround protects the locomotive and the correctly labelled full colour graphics card that sits between the model and the clear acetate front of the box remains in situ.  The original Hornby operating and maintenance instructions sheet numbered R24472105 remains with this item  This model is just as good as you could ever wish to obtain and in all respects it will be a lovely item for the fortunate new owner.

As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
