Hornby R2143 Great Western Region Class 61 XX Limited Edition loco
This highly collectable and powerful item is the extremely hard to get hold of Hornby R2143 Hornby Collectors Limited Edition model of the GWR Great Western Region Class 61XX Prairie tank locomotive numbered 6150. This item is in mint, factory fresh condition. It has never seen, or been on a layout, and has been stored in the box since new. This rarely available 2-6-2T locomotive is finished in GWR matt green livery with gold lettering. Complete with the single chimney, brass dome and the correct, black multi spoked wheels, it is absolutely stunning. Only available for 1 year in 1999 and never re-released, this item was constructed in the modern manner. This locomotive, numbered 6150, is just as good as the day it was first made and it would be impossible to obtain a better condition item. We removed the model from the box for the digital scan and the model has all detailing exactly as it should be. Highly detailed wired handrails, copper topped chimney and a high quality level of detailing are just 3 of the instantly recognizable features of this item. The model is just a beautifully made evocative item. The original Hornby box is in a bright, sharp, unfaded and fully intact condition. The box is correctly labelled for the contents it protects. The Limited Edition box band indicating that this is model number 856 of just 1000 examples, remains with the item. Inside the box, the original sculptured cream coloured polystyrene surround protects the locomotive. The full length monochrome display card that sits between the model and the clear acetate front of the box completes the ensemble. In all respects, this item is just as good and complete as you could ever wish to obtain.
This item predates digital control but should be an easy conversion to be DCC ready with the correct Hornby chip.
As all of our items are collectables and may have been stored for a long time, we would recommend that if the model is to be run, a light lubrication and dust removal would be appropriate ( where applicable ).
